administration focusing on improving education, public safety and
economic stability
Gov. Walker says the budget proposed Monday, part of the transition from
one governor to the next, is is the first fully balanced budget for the
state of Alaska since 2012.
What? No make believe $2 Billion dollar shortfall this year? Highest

Juvenile arrested in school threat investigations; Dimond High School
from Anchorage Police Department : Nixle On 11/16/18 9:31
a.m., a School Resource… On 11/16/18 9:31 a.m., a School Resource
Officer (SRO) assigned to Dimond High School (2909 W 88th Avenue) was
informed by school staff about a written threat on
one of the boy’s bathroom walls. The threat was about a shooting
directed at the school and the Anchorage Police Department. SROs
reviewed surveillance video and interviewed several students. This
afternoon, SROs questioned and arrested the suspect who is a male
student. Charges have been forwarded to the Department of Juvenile
Justice. APD is grateful for the community’s continued
cooperation in these investigations. If anyone has any information,
please contact Dispatch at 3-1-1 (option 1).

Democrats ask Dunleavy to rescind resignation requests A group
of Democratic lawmakers – incumbents, departing and recently-elected –
have written a letter to Gov.-elect Mike Dunleavy asking him to
reconsider his mandate for more than 800 at-will state employees to
submit letters of resignation and reapply through a non-state website if
they wish to... Dunleavy's transition spokesperson says he has
received the letter, but not yet had a chance to review it, as of
Tuesday afternoon. Criticisms of the request include
its broad scope, effects on morale, and the security of the private
website through which employees are asked to re-apply for their jobs.
