May 9 at 7:24am  Alaska  KTUU 2  Fees for shelters a hot button issue for Anchorage Assembly Safety Issues around homeless shelters were again a hot button issue during Tuesday's Anchorage Assembly meeting. But the question was what would…  "The inability of this entire community, this entire state, to address the shortfall of drug addiction and treatment is a problem."

They arrest them from the Remote parts of Alaska and ship them to Anchorage to serve their time. SB91 has them back on the streets within record time and the places they were taken from will not let them come back.

Because nearly all of them are drug addicted and alcoholics they cannot become productive members of society find themselves living on the streets.

Then they are given free needles to continue their lifestyles as an addict and turn to a life of crime to support the habit.

Vicious circle that has been created and supported by the Lawmakers in Juneau and the Representatives in each city from assembly members to mayors support this revolving door.

The irony to it all is the only ones that do something about it on a daily basis are being penalized for a problem that is not of their making and those who are responsible for passing those laws now want to make the ones helping, pay for Bad Laws that those in power passed.

Day 114 - The Referendum Deadline

The House has just gaveled in to begin Day 114 of the extended legislative session. Will legislators end the session by midnight tonight and preserve the right of the people to vote down bad laws through the referendum process?

Some bills that have received negative attention from the public include:

SB26: The Governor’s Bait & Switch bill that pretends to protect the PFD but doesn’t.

HB331: The $1 Billion Bond Package to early fund cashable oil tax credits.

HB20: Exempting legislators from the $25 signature fee to sign marriage licenses.

HB76: Providing a $1 Million/yr interest-free loan for up to 11 years to an organization involved in mariculture.

Note: These are just a few examples of the many unpopular bills the people may want to vote down on Election Day, if given the opportunity to do so.

Really is sad to see how many bills that were passed this year that does nothing to improve our lives as a majority and what has been passed caters to the Minority’s “Special Interests” in Alaska only.

The Minority are rejoicing knowing they have Alaska’s Lawmakers wrapped around their little Finger.

LOL....

A “Russian” Cuckoo that developed its own style of welfare. They get to have all the fun while making other birds pay for it.....

The first person to find this will be able to say we have a “Real Russian” invasion happening...

Wondering if they are responsible for the hacking attempts on our elections last year? Better get Mueller here quickly.... Russians are involved.

May 9 at 6:41pm  Alaska  Representative Lora Reinbold

Posting-frustrated with the direction of the state once again in overtime for the 5th year in a row!

If you like the big budgets, the crime epidemic SB 64 passed in 2014 & SB91 in 2016 has helped create (with no serious fix to SB 91 in site), using billions from the Permanent Fund Earnings without meaningful cuts, & not seeing a real solution to the recession-- I want to remind you who is actually in charge in the Gov Mansion, the House & the Senate so you can give them full credit.

Most of us just have to respond by posting on FB and by voting on last minute votes when bills come to the floor--remember we are NOT in charge and often can't get our district concerns/bills heard by leadership & their committee chairman.

Regardless of how they vote, these are the Leaders:
In the Senate the President is Sen Kelly (R) Fairbanks who sets tone in the Senate
Majority Leader often leads the caucus and floor vote recommendations: Sen Micciche
Finance Co-Chairs address all bills with fiscal notes on & fund the Budget: Sen Hoffman (D) & Sen MacInnon (Rino) Eagle River
Rules Chair--has tremendous power to schedule all bills for the floor-Sen Kevin Meyer (R-Anchorage)--can amend bills into bills in Rules as well

In the House:
Rep Bryce Edgmon (D) Dillingham-Speaker of House
Majority Leader-Chris Tuck (D) Anchorage
Co Chairs Finance Rep Seaton (Rino Homer) & Rep Foster (D) of Nome
Rules Chair has much more power than they lead you to believe & schedule all bills for the floor-Rep LeDoux (D/R) Muldoon

Gov Walker & his administration hold tremendous power & are getting loads of their bills and their massive budget thru because many fear him calling us back to Juneau if they don't give him what he wants. Gov also picks all the Commissioners that are spending 95% of the budget & fulfilling his agenda via the departments & programs.

In a more minor role: Minority Leader Charisse Millett (R) Anchorage who was an original sponsor of the POMV and setting up the Criminal Justice Commission (SB64) that helped bring forth SB91
Minority Leader in the Senate-Berta Gardner-who's caucus had not pushed back on the budget or crime

Caucus members often follow their leadership. All 60 members votes but the leaders usually set the agenda/priorities.

All these are nice people but I believe are often very off kilter with the wishes of Alaskans to reduce the budget, reduce crime and get our economy going again! Its time to call their offices, post to their facebook or email them to express your wishes as we close down session.

Another Fine List of Those that “Will” be Voted Out of Office!

All Alaskans Have Been Robbed and it clearly shows that the Lawmakers Do Not Care.
