Alaska just had its warmest December on record The statewide
average temperature in December was 19.4 degrees, 15.7 degrees above the
20th century average.
The report also found that 2017 was the third warmest year on record for
the U.S. since record-keeping began in 1895.
I bet there is not a single person that says Climate Change is caused by
Humans can answer this simple question.
What percentage of Climate Change is caused by humans?
I have yet to meet anyone that can give me that answer.
Over 1600

Teachers take another shot at securing new contracts
Negotiations between the ASD teachers union and the district have not
been easy. It's back to the drawing board in 2018 in search of a
long-term contract.
AS Teachers Unions Lobby for more money and yet do nothing to guarantee
the quality of the teachers educating our kids.
$90,000 dollars a year per teacher, extra money on each paycheck to pay
for healthcare and Alaska ranks 45th on the quality of education and
they think they should be receiving more money and is almost the worst
in all 50 states.
Time for them to prove they are worth the money they are already
receiving. Because clearly they are not worth it at this point.

ordinance. Below are the details of the ban. More information, as well

Bag Requirements - New City of Wasilla bag requirements, effective
July 1, 2018 plastic bag ban 2
What the requirements mean,
Prohibits all City establishments from providing single-use plastic
disposable shopping bags for the purpose of carrying away goods from
the point of sale.
Allows establishments to provide customers with any size recyclable
paper or reusable carryout bags.
Allows establishments to provide carryout bags made of plastic 2.25
mil or thicker, with or without charge at their discretion.
Imposes a warning for first offense, second offense $100, and third
offense $300.
Promotes reusable carryout bags as the best alternative to
single-use plastic bags.
Exemptions
Bags used in stores for bulk items or to protect vegetables, meat,
frozen foods, and similar items are exempt.
Bags sold in packages containing multiple bags intended for use as
garbage bags or to contain pet waste, or yard waste bags are exempt

Federal judge temporarily blocks Trump move to end DACA program for
immigrants The president wants to end a program that shielded
from deportation children brought to the U.S. illegally by their
parents.
A judge ruled that the program must remain in place while litigation
over President Trump's decision unfolds.
"In response to the failure of the DREAM Act legislation to pass both
houses of Congress, President Obama initiated the immigration policy
known as the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals in 2012. DACA
provides a 2-year deferment from deportation actions and provides
eligibility for a work permit."
This is something that never should have been Done by Obama and was done
through an executive order that was his way to avoid following the laws
and guarantee him being reelected.
Half to keep the Democrats voting base in place.
The Judge that
just did this will be overturned in the higher courts, just like
they did with the Travel Ban. It will only slow the process down for
just a bit, but ultimately will not save them.
