August 23 at 7:13 AM  Alaska  KTOO  Quinhagak’s Nunalleq dig site starts a new chapter in community-based archaeology  Quinhagak took a big step to redraft its cultural narrative this month with the opening of the largest museum collection of Yup’ik artifacts in the world, located off the of the Bering Sea coast. The village has been regaining pre-contact cultural knowledge, leading to a deeper understanding of it...  Elders have known about the old site at Nunalleq for some time. People were encouraged not to disturb the area, but artifacts began emerging as the permafrost thawed and the site eroded. The University of Aberdeen, Scotland came in to help.

August 23 at 7:17 AM  Alaska  KTOO  Stolen boards set back improvements to Treadwell Ditch Trail  Volunteers working on the Treadwell Ditch Trail made an unwelcome discovery Monday morning — $1,200 worth of materials had been stolen from the Blueberry Hill parking lot.  “If they could be returned, we don’t want to press charges, we just want to get these bridges in,” said Trail Mix, Inc. Executive Director Erik Boraas. “Put them back in the parking lot and we’ll be very happy and so will the community.”

August 23 at 7:24 AM  Alaska  KTOO  Turnout is third-lowest in Alaska state primary history  Of registered voters, 18.2 percent cast ballots, with five precincts and some absentee ballots left to count.  Republican pollster and strategist Marc Hellenthal thinks many voters weren't aware there even was a primary election. And in Anchorage, he thinks the municipality's recent vote-by-mail election may have created confusion about Tuesday's traditional statewide election. 


Seems like a big bunch of whinny Democrats are just beginning to notice that our State is going from Purple back to Red.

Mainstream Media did a good job of highlighting nothing this Primary and pushed allot of Bogus Voting information to us all.
