Starting Nov. 1, single use disposable plastic shopping bags will be banned within Soldotna city limits.

At the Soldotna City Council meeting last night, an ordinance banning plastic bags, which was introduced by council members Lisa Parker and Linda Murphy, passed 4 to 1.
