An open letter to a select few senators.
Dear Senators Coghill, Kelly, Micciche, and Meyers,
I fully do not expect any one of you to respond to my correspondence as this is generally your modes operendi but that does not tamper my regard for contacting you. I am completely of no illusion that I am the Chair of any of your fan clubs!
As all of you know, the Judiciary Chair was rolled on a seldom used process called Rule 48, by the majority on the Senate Judiciary Committee due to Senator Coghill's insistence to block movement on legislation even though the 3 bills in Judiciary are extremely popular across the entire state of Alaska.
What is most disconcerting is the ruling from the Chair that there would be not public testimony even though the public was solicited to participate.
Additionally, the Chair made a unilateral decision to adjourn the meeting because he objected to a motion to move this legislation out of committee. I hardly need to explain this to any of you as you are well adept at "parliamentary procedure" to manipulate outcomes even when they are blatantly against the majority of citizens of Alaska.
This letter is to inform you that from this point forward, I will do everything possible to shine a light on these real legislative obstructionists which are not the sole propriety of Senator Coghill. He is merely packing the water for the Majority leadership which is Senate President Pete Kelly, Majority Leader Peter Micciche, and Rules Chair Kevin Meyer.
Be it known and understood by all Alaskans that you four stand directly against the repeal of SB91, blocking Bree's law legislation, and protecting the PFD within the framework of the State Constitution to keep it away from the greed of government as if your financial judgment is more sound.
In the case of John Coghill the citizens will have to be patient to take him from office. The other 3 are up for replacement and I encourage all Alaskans who reside in your respective districts to issue you a pink slip either in August or November. It is clear you all no longer represent the citizens of Alaska but represent each other. In the case of Kevin Meyer, all Alaskan who receive a Republican ballot have the opportunity to give him a gift in the dog days of August. There is a reckoning coming.
