Sorry folks - I have started watching KTVA vice KTUU news because
of the obvious liberal slant to news by KTUU. Most of what you report is
very balanced. You seem to try to embody the principles of Edward R.
Murrow and Walter Cronkite. You report the facts......
....and then you
let John Tracy clutter up your broadcast with his liberal CRAP!
Sorry but his comparison of the budget woes of Alaska to a
pilot/plane flying, tonight, was one of the worst pieces of
editorial journalism I have seen in almost 50 years of watching
news. In my opinion he is a clown - and it shows. I would rather
watch Mr. White Keys.
The VERY FIRST
thing a pilot does when he notices that he may be short of gas is to
take steps to mitigate the shortage. Slow down. Lean the mixture.
Climb. Shift to long range cruise speed. Etc.
The state budget
is Hugely BLOATED; and the very first thing we need to do is to CUT
THE BUDGET! Take steps to mitigate the shortage. Tracy has an
obvious pro-incometax agenda. I would suggest - if you don't want to
get rid of him outright - that you find a counterpoint to his agenda
driven drivel. Invite conservative opinion on Wed/Fri to provide a
counterpoint.

So good to hear today about the positive economic impacts the trucking
industry has in our area: the jobs, the investment, the consumer
service. It was excellent
too to hear from real people in the real world who work literally every
day where the “rubber meets the road.” These folks reaffirmed what I’ve
pushed for in the legislature yet what has not yet materialized to the
extent needed: 1) improvements made at the ground level at the Alaska
Dept. of Transportation (DOT); and 2) efficiencies implemented at DOT
without costing more money. Example? Privatizing snow removal in many
instances would improve road safety AND save money. When we’ve only
reduced agency operations (all funding sources considered) by less than
3% in the past three years, if there’s a way to both save money AND
improve service, we’d be foolish not to consider it.
This it the moral character that we should be looking for in all of our
Senators
