UPDATE: APD identify man shot and killed by officers Wednesday night
One man was killed by police late Wednesday night after allegedly
opening fire on police. Thursday morning, APD is investigating the
officer-involved…
Anchorage police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that
left one man dead late Wednesday night. The shooting happened in the
parking lot of the Fred Meyer on Muldoon Road.

How much time should people in illegal campsites have until they are
required to leave? Should the municipality be charged with storing items
left behind? Those are
just a couple of the questions surrounding an Anchorage Assembly
ordinance that's focused on the reduction of illegal camps in town
(which were also hot topics of discussion at a joint meeting Wednesday).
Here is a suggestion....
When they release criminals from jail that they have hauled in from the
villages.
They are escorted after release to the airport and given a one way
ticket back to their village.
That would
cleanup darn nearly half of the homeless.

The Anchorage School District is considering changing high school start
times back to 8:30 am. John Tracy says there are plenty of reasons to
give teens that extra hour of sleep. We want to know what you
think.
There is many financial reasons that high school starts earlier.
To make the times later would mean that many parents will need to find
daycare and no longer be able to hold 8-5 jobs.
The time that they start school now, also helps prepare them for the
working world they will be entering into.
