4 Reasons Trump Was Right to Pull Out of the Paris Agreement The Paris Agreement would have been harmful to the American energy sector and consumers. The Paris Agreement, which committed the U.S. to drastically reducing greenhouse gas emissions, was a truly bad deal—bad for American taxpayers, American energy companies, and every single American who depends on affordable, reliable energy. | The Daily Signal Paris Accord

Arctic teen and foreign ministers dismayed at Trump's Paris pullout
Optimism about climate action has evaporated, say a Shishmaref teen who
served as an Arctic youth ambassador. Foreign ministers from Nordic
nations…
Meanwhile, Gov. Walker said Alaska's climate work will continue despite
President Trump's decision to withdraw from the Paris Climate pact. Climate Change/Global Warming/Global Cooling The top three reasons why Alaska's government doesn't want Alaskans to know about climate change, besides that it has been happening for millions of years... #1 Reason. Alaska villages/cities/towns wouldn't be able to get the government to move the houses and community's that are falling into the ocean due to erosion which has been going on for millions of years. If they acknowledge it's naturally happening, they won't be able to force the government to pay to move them. They choose to live there, it shouldn't be Alaska's taxpayers money paying for their choice of where they want to live. #2 UAA Would lose allot of the funding they receive if they told the truth. By making the claims they do means they don't half to reduce the colleges budget. #3 Why don't they tell Alaskans the truth behind the climate change initiative. It's all about pollution control and reducing emissions of pollution. But they can't sell that to the public and make it believable!

In spite of the United States’ withdrawal from the Paris
climate accord today, Alaska will continue to work to boost national
defense and security measures for our 6,640 miles of Alaskan coastline,
increase resilience for Arctic communities, and provide energy
leadership for the nation. "Alaskans know that our landscape is
changing at an accelerating pace. We are experiencing social and
economic upheaval caused by shrinking sea ice, rising sea level,
increasing intensity of storms, and increasing coastal erosion. Alaska
communities such as Shishmaref, Kivalina, and Newtok are literally
washing into the ocean.International military interest demonstrates the
importance of the Arctic and subarctic in planning our nation’s defense
strategies. We stand ready to achieve the goal of protecting Americans,
their communities, and their way of life.” –Alaska Governor Bill Walker

DATA VIZ: Energy Consumption in Alaska Check out the
interactive data visualization to see how Alaska's energy consumption
and carbon dioxide emissions compares across the country, in 2014.
In 2014, Alaska consumed the fourth greatest amount of energy, per
capita, nationwide, according to the U.S.
Energy Information Administration. Let's see... your telling us we used more energy then 46 other states and our pollution output is better then 39 other states. Sounding more like it was the best thing in the world for us that President Trump withdrew from the Paris Accord. We already exceeded what it would have achieved. Time for our local government to wake up and stop waisting money on climate change and put it towards making Alaska #1 for carbon footprint. Only 10 spots to move up to get there |
