Here is the rub. The Statehood compact clearly states that any statutory changes of the federal government to the Statehood compact must go before the legislators for a 2/3rd vote and before the citizens for consent. It also says it is the duty of the Lt. Governor to prepare this question to go before the legislature and to the people.

This intent language was written during the recent special session and could have been presented to the legislature for consideration.

It is obvious the Lisa Murkowski, Governor Walker, and Byron Mallott wish to assist the federal government in violating the Statehood compact with an illegal statute, pass the legislation, and then use the passage as an arm twisting leverage on both the legislature and the citizens of Alaska.

We are being played. The end result is these representatives of Alaska are selling out the essential elements of our statehood compact. We received 90% of the mineral assets on federal land so we could be financially stable.

My specific question is this. Is the State of Alaska currently "financially stable?"

They are systematically selling off Alaska’s futures with what they are doing and guaranteeing Alaska will have no choice but to add new taxes
